Poll Shows Where Arizona Voters Stand

Trump Leads Biden; Abortion Rights Favored

In the latest Emerson College Polling/The Hill survey, former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in Arizona by 47% to 43%. Independent voters show a preference for Trump, although his support among them has dropped from 48% to 43% since April. On the other hand, Democratic Senate candidate Ruben Gallego leads Republican Kari Lake by 45% to 41%.

Abortion rights are strongly favored by Arizona voters, with 56% supporting a ballot measure to establish the constitutional right to abortion. Additionally, 55% back a measure allowing state and local police to arrest noncitizens crossing the border unlawfully and allowing state judges to order deportations.

President Biden’s approval rating in Arizona stands at 36%, with a disapproval rate of 54%. Governor Katie Hobbs has an approval rating of 36%, with 43% disapproving and 22% remaining neutral.


The economy remains the top issue for Arizona voters, cited by 27% as their primary concern, followed closely by immigration at 26%. Despite the ongoing legal issues surrounding Trump and Hunter Biden, these have minimal impact on voter preferences in the state.

Beyond Arizona, Trump leads Biden in Georgia (45% to 41%), Wisconsin (47% to 44%), Nevada (46% to 43%), Pennsylvania (47% to 45%), and Michigan (46% to 45%). They are tied in Minnesota at 45%.
Democratic Senate candidates generally outperform Biden in several key states:

  • Minnesota: Amy Klobuchar (D) 48%, Royce White (R) 37%
  • Michigan: Elissa Slotkin (D) 43%, Mike Rogers (R) 39%
  • Nevada: Jacky Rosen (D) 50%, Sam Brown (R) 38%
  • Pennsylvania: Bob Casey (D) 47%, David McCormick (R) 41%
  • Wisconsin: Tammy Baldwin (D) 46%, Eric Hovde (R) 44%
