Two Arizona Cities Among Top 25 Most Affordable To Live and Work

Arizona is home to two of the most affordable cities to live and work in the United States in 2019.

Phoenix ranks ninth, with residents having an average of 81% of their salary remaining after rent. Tempe is 25th as residents keep 79% of their money after paying rent.

The results came from a new study completed by BusinessStudent.com that factored in the average salary and rent to compile a list of The 25 Most Affordable Cities to Live and Work In 2019.

With 2019 approaching, there are numerous factors that come into play when people select a place to work and live, such as job opportunities and cost of living. While a higher salary is nice, less disposable income remains if rent is high.

Also to be considered in the selection process is the cultural and social preferences of each person, but the study also provided a great deal of information to provide a solid starting point for everyone.

Below is a list that includes some of BusinessStudent.com’s national findings:

• The average income left after rent in the top 25 cities is 81 percent.

• Texas had five cities in the top 25.

• The Midwest placed eight cities on our list, including three in Ohio alone.

• Oklahoma boasts two of the top three cities, including the overall No. 1.

• Dallas had the highest average salary in the top 25 at $82,609, while its Texas neighbor, College Station, had the lowest average salary at just $55,086.

• The cheapest average monthly rent was $863 in Tulsa, while the highest average rent was Dallas’ $1,422.
