Summer Fun for Arizona Families

School is out, summer is in. With a lot of extra time on their hands, children are ready to play and do something fun and exciting. Get your kids off their phones, and take them out into the Valley for some good, old-fashioned fun. With many family-friendly choices to choose from, there is plenty to do in the Phoenix area.

Let’s start with some water parks to beat the summer sun. In Tempe, go check out Golfland Sunsplash (mini-golf and laser tag, too) in Mesa and Big Surf (with massive wave technology) in Tempe. Also, get wet at the Mesa Aquatic Complex, the Rhodes Aquatic Complex, and the Kiwanis Recreation Center in Tempe.

Looking to see a movie with the family? Harkins Theatres has you covered. From the end of May until August 4th, locations in the Phoenix area are playing movies like “Kung Fu Panda 3” and “The Lego Batman Movie.” At only $7, going to the movies is an inexpensive activity, but so much fun.

If you like to try for a strike in bowling, get out to the lanes at Bowlmor AMF, Brunswick Zone, and Bowlero. During the summer, individuals can pay no more than $45 to bowl three games a day until Labor Day. That is a lot of bowling!

Museums are also a great way to enjoy some family time, while learning something new in the summer time. The i.d.e.a Museum has a lot of activities that children can participate in, which will keep them engaged. On June 16, the museum will open their cute monsters and superheroes exhibit, which all children are sure to love. At the Arizona Museum of Natural History, come view some real dinosaur bones, while panning for gold.
