“Premium Plus” Seats Coming To United Airlines

In an effort to enhance the in-flight experience and keep pace in the arms race of travel, United Airlines is launching new “premium plus” seating directed towards international travelers.

The new option officially went on sale Monday, Dec. 3 for flights on March 30 and beyond.

“Premium plus” seating will be found in the new international-style premium-economy cabin, which will serve as a middle ground between business class and economy. The numerous benefits of premium plus include priority boarding, extra legroom, roomier reclining seats and higher-end in-flight meal and beverage options.

For years international carriers have had a service similar to “premium plus” available, and now carriers in the U.S. are starting to provide the option.

United is still determining which flight routes will offer the enhanced flight experience option.
