Pizza Festival to Return to Phoenix

Attention fellow pizza lovers of Phoenix! On November 19th, the second annual Phoenix Pizza Festival will be held at Margaret T. Hance Park. This delicious event promises to be fun for all ages, with unique and up and coming pizza makers from across the valley, dessert stations, live bands, lawn games, craft beer and wine vendors, and even a children’s craft section! The list of 15 pizza makers provides a wide variety of different choices for attendees. Classic Italian pizzas from top-rated valley favorites, such as Il Bosco, will be in abundance. Visitors looking for a more modern take on this savory American staple might enjoy offerings from vendors like Saffron Jak, who make their renowned pizzas with Persian sourdough crusts called Sangak, or from Focoso, whose wood-fired pizzas are famous for featuring jalapeños, cherry peppers, pepperoncinis, and ricotta cheese. Vendors even include La Piazza al Forno, which was featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and Whiskey Ranch BBQ, whose chefs participated in the Food Network’s Chopped: Grill Masters.

Admission to this event is $10/person, with children 3 and under free. Food and drinks are not included once inside, but are reasonably priced. Pizza vendors will be offering slices for $2-$4, and half or whole pies if desired. Beer and wines are $6, while water and sodas are $2. Proceeds from the event will support Downtown Phoenix Inc., an organization dedicated to revitalizing and enriching life in Downtown Phoenix. The event will last from 11 am- 5pm. Margaret T.
