Phoenix Sky Harbor To Add New Flights

Next year, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will offer a pair of new travel options, one domestic and one intercontinental.

It was announced by the city last week that one airline was expanding its European connection, and another is adding a new route to Florida.

German-based Condor is boosting its service between Sky Harbor and Frankfurt, which debuted this year. The airline offered the flights twice a week in 2018 from the end of May through September.

Condor has decided to expand the route in 2019 to three times a week after seeing success. The flight will run Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, from the beginning of May through October.

“That means that more people can come into the Valley and into Arizona from Germany, or connecting from all of the world through Frankfurt,” Deborah Ostreicher, Sky Harbor assistant director, said. “And we here in Arizona can go to Frankfort and/or all over the world with connections from there. It’s a huge, huge success for this Valley and for the state of Arizona.”

JetBlue is providing a new nonstop route to Fort Lauderdale from Phoenix Sky Harbor. The discount carrier will begin offering the flight daily, starting Feb. 14, 2019.
