Phoenix Museum to Offer Free Admission to Educators

Teachers in Phoenix are being given a unique opportunity this month to beat the heat while exploring a one of a kind local attraction. The Musical Instrument Museum, open daily from 9am to 5pm, is honoring teachers the entire month of July with free admission to their facilities. The museum, which hosts thousands of instruments from all over the world, states on their website, “We believe that educators are both leaders in their communities and vital partners of the museum.”

In addition to the free admission, which includes both their exhibits and the performances held there frequently, the museum is also offering educators ten percent off in their cafe, and on most of their gift shop items. In order to take advantage of these perks all pre- k through 12th grade teachers, administrators, principals, and even home school teachers just need to submit their credentials upon entry.

The Museum, which has long been a Phoenix favorite, allows patrons to experience instruments in a way that they would otherwise never get the chance. With over 6500 instruments in their collection, which span both continents and centuries, the museum provides hours of learning an entertainment to thousands of locals and tourists each year.

The month long celebration will be capped off on July 29th with an event called Teacher Preview Day, where, according to MIM’s website, “Attendees will learn about MIM’s offerings for prekindergarten through 12th grade groups!” Light refreshments will be served, and alongside the presentation, which includes information on field trips, grants, and professional development credentials, there will be a live performance followed by mingling and exploring the museum. Any educators wishing to register for this free event can do so at www.mim.org.
