Phoenix Area Festivals Scheduled for January

If you’re a fan of festivals and other various outdoor activities, then you’ll be delighted to learn that Phoenix has a number of them scheduled for January 2018. From a National Horse Show to a block party, there are plenty of activities planned for those living or visiting the Valley.

Glendale Glitter & Glow Block Party

This annual event in downtown Glendale is entering its 23rd year and is slated for January 6, 4-10 p.m. This year’s event will feature 1.5 million LED lights, and visitors can also enjoy everything from specially-shaped hot air balloons and live music to food and rides.  There will be several local and popular live entertainment acts performing at the free event to include: DJ Dangerous (playing the hottest pop hits); Sierra Outlaws (country); Vintage Wednesday (rock); West Hills Brothers (acoustic/electric pop, rock); ZIMIS (classic rock, oldies, country); 76th Street (indie pop); Darkness Dear Boy (indie rock); TOONzZ (classic rock). ACE Comic Con Arizona

Arizona National Horse Show

The show is planned to take place from January 4-7. According to Arizona National, “The Arizona National Horse Show has long been part of the Arizona National Livestock Show annual competitions. Since relocating to Scottsdale’s WestWorld equine complex in 1998, it has experienced significant growth, with equine competitions for various interests including an American Quarter Horse Show, and the 4-H & FFA Horse Show.” http://www.anls.org/horseshow/

A few other events planned in January include the Barrett-Jackson Car Auction (Jan. 13-21), Native: A Festival of Tribal, AZ Art & Entertainers (Jan. 26-28) and The Grand Wine Festival (Jan. 26-28).
