Osborn Residencies, Sprouts Grocery Store Replace Former Midtown Bashas’

Midtown Phoenix is seeing some changes as construction begins on Osborn Residences and Osborn Marketplace, featuring a Sprouts Farmers Market, where the iconic Bashas’ grocery store once stood.

The complex, a partnership between High Street Residential and MetLife Investment Management, is set to feature 190 upscale apartments, a five-story parking garage, a Sprouts Farmers Market, and a Starbucks location, which is already open to the public.

It was previously unclear which “notable grocer” would be occupying the space in the adjacent Osborn Marketplace since Bashas’ announced last year that it would not be involved in the new development. Zachary Pace, senior vice president with Phoenix Commercial Advisors, recently confirmed that Sprouts has signed a lease.

“Midtown and Downtown submarkets are home to Phoenix’s most diverse population and as a result, the project is designed and amenitized with the goal of appealing to a wide range of potential renters,” said Paul Tuchin, Senior VP with High Street Residential’s Phoenix Business Unit in a press release. “Our onsite amenities as well as adjacency to a notable grocer, Starbucks, and retail shops at The Osborn Marketplace will provide our residents with a unique, walkable mixed-use community.”

Amenities in Osborn Residencies will feature Wi-Fi throughout, a coffee bar, lounge area and resort-style pool. The luxury apartments will range from 583-to-1,358 square feet and are expected to be ready for occupancy in August 2019, according to High Street Residential.
