‘Original Breakfast House’ Named Best Breakfast in Arizona

When John Stidham relocated to the Valley for retirement, he had every intention of relaxing and taking it easy. When he recognized an open retail location near 32nd & Thunderbird—seemingly perfect for a restaurant he had in mind—he decided to hop back right back into the industry.

Luckily for early-rising, hungry Arizona residents, he did.

With the help of his son, Nick, Stidham has run Original Breakfast House since 2013. As the years have passed, the buzz has grown—culminating in Extra Crispy (a Time subsidiary) naming the restaurant as one of United States’ 51-best breakfast spots, and the number one designation in the entire state of Arizona.

With a menu ranging from the basics like eggs and bacon, to more interesting fare like ‘San Francisco Style French Toast’ (which an explanation can do no justice), Original Breakfast House will likely be able to impress even the pickiest and most stubborn eaters in any state around the country.

A quick glance through local online ratings and reviews reveals exactly what Extra Crispy did—that Arizonans love the no-frill, all-flavor breakfast establishment that Stidham started more than four years ago.

If French toast or the other normal breakfast staple dishes don’t appeal to your tastes, consider the chicken fried chicken offered at Original Breakfast House. With a perfect, complementary level of crispness in every bite and a delectable gravy smothering the plate, you might need to make multiple trips to exhaust the menu of all the possibilities.

As Extra Crispy said in their article in adoration of this Arizona treasure, “if you can’t find your dream breakfast here, you just aren’t trying hard enough.”

You won’t have to try hard, though—the food at Original Breakfast House is just that good. Don’t take our word for it though (or even Extra Crispy’s word). Go in, grab a plate, and see why thousands of Arizonans will always be happy to have an original breakfast.
