Million-Square-Foot Development To Begin Construction in Southeast Valley In 2019

A brand new all-day destination that provides options for dining, shopping and working is coming to the Southeast Valley in the form of Gallery Park.

The new multi-use development was planned by VIVO Partners and will be located southeast of the 202 Freeway and Power Road. Construction on the project is slated for a Spring 2019 start.

Amidst the land Gallery Park will span across will be two hotels, roughly 400,000 square feet of Class A office, along with 420 luxury apartments and condominiums located above restaurant and retail space and other entertainment uses such as a movie theater. Once the project is fully completed, the space is estimated to house over 3,000 residents and employees.

“I have friends, family and two business partners who all live in the Southeast Valley and are tired of driving 30 to 60 minutes to find culinary-inspired places to eat next to great, energetic gathering spaces.” said Jose Pombo, Development Partner at VIVO Partners. “Gallery Park will be a first-of-its-kind social destination that weaves art within a curated mix of tenants to create a genuinely cool vibe that Southeast Valley residents have been craving.”

With the addition of Gallery Park’s Art Program, the complex will surely be unmatched throughout the Valley.

Through the use of an art-walk experience that consists of wall murals, various art installations and art displays from local artists, residents and visitors will be exposed to numerous types of creative pieces.

It will also be required by Gallery Park that all office buildings put art on display in their common areas, while also making the suggestion to hotels and restaurants in the area.

“Location is key when selecting a site for projects, and Mesa’s Gateway Area is ideal for Gallery Park,” Mayor John Giles said. “Southeast Mesa is still growing fast and bringing an entire, 40-acre, community with jobs, homes, entertainment and art that focuses on placemaking is a great fit.

The positioning of Gallery Park will provide opportunities for the development to reach over 223,000 residents within a five-mile radius that boast a household income of at least $101,000. When expanding the radius to 10 miles, the customer base jumps to 920,000 people.

Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and Arizona State University’s Polytechnic Campus are also both located just minutes away from Gallery Park.

“This is a major addition to the Gateway Area and will not only bring office space and luxury housing, but also entertainment, restaurants, and shopping options to the region for all to enjoy,” District 6 Councilmember Kevin Thompson said. “Gallery Park continues the upward trend of District 6 being a destination location, which is great for our citizens and regional partners.”
