Lady Gagas Super Bowl Halftime Show to Be The Most Expensive One Ever

Rah ah-ah-ah! Ro mah ro-mah-mah!  Sung to the tune of $10 million dollars, the estimated cost of this year’s Super Bowl half time show according to CNBC.  The NFL is breaking the bank on a performance that is to include some big show stunts like dropping from the ceiling of the NRG Stadium in Houston.  A large budget will be required for this stunt in order for it to meet safety standards. 

The NFL had reportedly warned Gaga that she is not to make any political statements during the show but the NFL denied the rumor and gave Gaga the go ahead to be as political as she wanted and say anything she wants to about new US president Donald Trump.  Lady Gaga had been photographed with her head in her hands after staging a protest against presidential nominee Donald Trump outside of the Trump Tower.

A source told Entertainment Weekly that Gaga was not interested in making her performance about politics and had never even considered the idea.  Gaga is an outspoken advocate of Hilary Clinton, equality and LGBT causes but it remains to be seen whether or not her 12 minutes – the most watched 12 minutes of entertainment in America – will be used to denounce Trump.


The Super Bowl is the most-watched television program in America and the halftime show offers a unique opportunity for performers to speak to the world during the most watched entertainment of the year.  The halftime show is worth about $100 million worth of publicity for a performer – what will Gaga do with her opportunity this year?
