Guide to Arizona Easter Events

Commonly referred to as Christianity’s most significant holiday, Easter is the celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead. In addition to a variety of religious activities taking place in and around Phoenix, residents and those visiting the capital city will also have their choice of many other exciting happenings around the region that are all being planned for the purpose of celebrating this annual holiday. Here are just a few of the events being highlighted that you can plan to attend to celebrate of the 2017 Easter holiday:

  • Dolly Sanchez Memorial Easter Egg Hunt – Slated to start at 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, April 15 in Peoria. 2017 will mark the event’s 40th anniversary. In addition to candy hunts for eight different age groups, this event also features a petting zoo, pony rides, make & take crafts, face painting, carnival games, and fun inflatables.   • Family Easter Celebration in Chandler – Also taking place on April 15, Chandler’s Family Easter Celebration is entering its 37th year. Different activities include: carnival games, bouncy houses, inflatables, visits with the Easter Bunny and the city’s renown Easter egg hunts. This event will begin at 9 a.m. and admission is free, unless you plan to purchase food and beverage items, use the inflatables, or have photos taken with the Easter Bunny. You can find this event at Snedigar Recreation Center, 4500 S. Basha Road in Chandler. 

  • Easter at the park – Discovery Community Church will be conducting this year’s Easter Service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 16. But, prior to the service, you can enjoy pancakes and a carnival with games, inflatables and face painting.
