Expect Street Closures for Phoenix Pride Festival, Parade, and Run

Since 1981, Phoenix Pride Festival has been celebrating the LGBT community here in the Valley and their 36th annual event is due this weekend, Saturday, April 1 – April 2 at Steele Indian School Park. This positivity and awareness festival attracts over 35,000 attendees featuring Pride Run Phoenix, Phoenix Pride Parade, over 150 entertainment performances on 5 stages, Pride Pageant, KidSpace, Arts Expo, Health and Wellness Pavilion and more.

Pride Run Phoenix hosts a 5K, 10K, and half marathon races running through downtown, midtown, and uptown on Saturday, March 25, 2017. As there are multiple runs throughout Phoenix streets, many roads will be shut down to traffic early in the morning including Central Ave from Northern Avenue south to Van Buren Street, 19th Avenue from Bethany Home Road to Northern Avenue, and Bethany Home Road and Northern Avenue from 19th Avenue to Central Avenue. The races start at 6:30 a.m. so the roads should start opening up before or around noon. Visit the Pride Run website for detailed course maps of the race routes.

The Phoenix Pride Parade starts on Sunday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m. from 3rd Street and Thomas Road. The parade brings together thousands of participants with colorful vehicles and floats with over 15,000 spectators. The parade concludes at Steele Indian School Park, off of 3rd Street and Indian School Road.


The Pride Festival runs from 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Adult 1-day admission is $20 the day of the festival, the 2-day pass runs $35 the day of the festival, however there are discounts for buying online. Youth admission, from ages 13-17, is $12 and children under 12 are free. Additionally, there are VIP passes and several meet and greet passes with the performers at the festival.
