Coyote Sightings Worry Phoenix neighborhood Residents

After a repeat sighting of a pack of coyotes in one Phoenix neighborhood, residents have become concerned.

Residents in the area of 7th Avenue and Bethany Home Road say that there has been a recent increase in the frequency of coyote sightings.

“I knew we had coyotes in our neighborhood, but I was surprised to see three in our yard.” explained Wendy Manning, who’s lived in the same home for 18 years.

One neighbor spotted a pair of coyotes on a Ring doorbell video, while other neighbors have spotted a third with the initial pair.

Coyote sightings are more typical in rural parts of the area, but experts say it’s not shocking to see them in more populated areas. They’ve been known to pop up in yards, golf courses, and parks, according to Arizona Game and Fish.

The main suggested deterrent of coyotes is outdoor lighting, according to experts.
