Coming Soon: $800,000 VR Attraction at Octane Raceway

Octane Raceway, a kart racing company based in Scottsdale, AZ, recently announced the addition of an $800,000 new virtual reality attraction at its facility. The company is planning to release the Velocity VR attraction in a 3,500-square-foot open space on May, 29 2017, which also happens to be Memorial Day.

Octane Raceway’s CEO Scott Sanders released the following statement regarding the addition: “Octane Raceway is committed to the most exciting and immersive experiences for our customers that leave them awestruck and wanting more. Velocity VR falls in line with that commitment, and will truly be a unique and memorable attraction.”

Current attractions at the facility include a third mile track which winds both inside and outside of the facility. According to the company’s website, it’s the only “full time indoor/outdoor track in the United States that is open for business 365 days a year for public and corporate events. Their European electric race karts can reach speeds up to 45 MPH for a truly exhilarating experience with zero emissions. They also proclaim to be “A sophisticated, world-class karting facility, Octane has become a Scottsdale entertainment staple – a definite “must do” when visiting the Valley. The first theme scheduled for the new VR attraction is deemed “Survivor,” and will consist of a zombie apocalypse scenario. Up to six players can participate at a time, and the game experience will be 45 minutes. The cost of each game will be $40 during the week and $45 weekends.
