Candidate Stabbed Husband – Pleads Guilty to Felony

Sharron Sauls, a current candidate for Justice of the Peace was arrested and charged on May 12, 2003, with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Disorderly Conduct involving an incident where she stabbed her husband.

According to records obtained from the Maricopa County Clerk of the Superior Court (Case Number CR2003-036841-001), Sharron Sauls “backed the victim up to the couch and he sat down at knife point.”  Court records also state Sharron Sauls then “began to bring the knife down towards him in a stabbing motion.”  The stabbing motion cut the victim three times.

In charging Sharron Sauls with the crime, the State of Arizona stated:  “the offense charged in this count is a dangerous felony because the offense involved, use, or threatening exhibition of a knife, a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument, and/or the intentional or knowing infliction of serious physical injury.” 


Sharron Sauls pleaded guilty to a Class 6 Undesignated Felony.
