APS Annual Light Parade This Saturday

Come rain or shine on Saturday night, the annual holiday light parade is scheduled to take place in central Phoenix.

The parade, which is the 31st consecutive one, will begin at Central and Montebello avenues at 7 pm.

The parade route is two miles in length and will end at Seventh Street and Indian School Road.

There could be around 100,000 spectators of the festivities. Parade spectators can have camping or lawn chairs to make their viewing a little more comfortable. Coolers are also allowed on site provided they do not have alcoholic beverages or glass bottles.

Parking near the Winter Lights, Dazzling Lights route is limited to street parking and is available for those who arrive early enough to get a parking space. Parade watchers have been known to get a parking spot up to three hours prior to the show starting.

The streets may be crowded with spectators but not umbrellas on Saturday. The weather has been predicted on Saturday evening by the National Weather Service with a low of 54 degrees and a 20 percent chance of rain.
