6 Free Activities to Enjoy in 2017

Whether you are a local Phoenix resident, or perhaps a visitor exploring the “Valley of the Sun” for the first time, there are plenty of exciting activities scheduled throughout 2017 that are free to enjoy. From exploring a variety of desert adventures to taking pleasure in this area’s rich arts and culture scene, here are a just a few no-cost happenings that are recommended!

Free Museum Days
If you enjoy visiting museums, then you should be excited to learn that Phoenix offers free museum admission on specific days each month. Some of the museums that visitors can enjoy free admission at include: Heard Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, Desert Botanical Garden, Children’s Museum of Phoenix, Mesa Arts Center and Arizona Capitol Museum.

Desert Trails
Although it may not be on everybody’s bucket list, there’s something alluring about venturing out into the desert and being surrounded by that infinite barrenness. Downtown Phoenix
Similar to other major metropolitan areas, Downtown Phoenix offers a surplus of free activities ranging from trivia nights to rooftop yoga. Comedy Shows
Calling all stand-up comedy enthusiasts: local comedians are featured at ThirdSpace every Thursday night between the hours of 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. No cover charge.

Farmers Markets
Found both indoors and outdoors around the City of Phoenix; it’s always free to walk around and mingle with the local farmers and merchants at farmers markets.

Dancing
For those visitors who’ve always wanted to learn swing dancing; they should make plans to attend Duce’s South Central Swing Night on Tuesdays from 7 to 11 p.m. Enjoy a free swing dance lesson from 7 to 8 p.m.
